“History in 3D” creates 4K videos of iconic locations and interiors of ancient Rome, showcasing the Сity as it was at the height of its glory

Mise à jour le jeudi 31 octobre 2024 par Danila Loginov

Our project, “Rome in 3D,” is progressing in several directions simultaneously. Alongside the creation of new reconstructions, we are working on improving existing ones. Special attention is also given to the quality of our content presentation, with one of our main platforms being our YouTube channel, where we publish videos based on our project’s materials.

We present two new videos, which are our first in 4K format. They reflect the current state and achievements in creating a virtual 3D reconstruction of the Eternal City. Our goal remains to create the most detailed, accurate, and comprehensive reconstruction of ancient Rome.

The first video allows you to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of Rome in the 4th century and explore its most iconic locations—Capitoline Hill, the Forums, and the Palatine Hill. The video features breathtaking panoramas of the City from a bird’s-eye view.

The second video offers a glimpse into the once-luxurious interiors of ancient Roman temples and public buildings. In eight minutes, you will visit the Pantheon, the Temples of Venus and Roma, Peace, the Basilica of Maxentius, and the Baths of Caracalla. You’ll see their lavish and exquisite decor, rivaling even the grandeur of imperial palaces.

Soon, I plan to release more video content on YouTube, as well as other materials, which I will announce here. I also host live streams to discuss the project in greater detail—the next one is scheduled for Friday 1 November at 3:00 PM.

Аnd here is a special bonus for those who visited this page and read up to here – a bird’s eye view of the center of Rome “then and now”, with captions of the most important landmarks:
